Information of Euro's falsification
In the second half of 2007, a total of 296,000 counterfeit euro banknotes were withdrawn from circulation. This figure represents a slight increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
The 50 Euros bill was the most falsified during the second semester of 2007. The sum of the three intermediate denominations (€ 20, € 50 and € 100) represented around 88% of the total false banknotes.
The breakdown of false notes by denomination is as follows:
€ 5: 0.5%
€ 10: 2.5%
€ 20: 27.5%
€ 50: 38%
€ 100: 22%
€ 200: 9%
€ 500: 0.5%
