How Can I deposit coins at the bank?
For a long period of time, the Bank provided coin rolls of euro coins to its clients so they could deposit the coins of the different denominations, from 1 cent to 2 euros.
The main reason to give the wrappers was to minimize the cash handling cost, since rolled coins are easier to transport and count because they are already separated.
Currently Banks and Credit Unions don't provided the amount of coin rolls required by their customers;therefore, most retailers are force to buy the coin rolls.
Advantatges to deposit coins in plastic rolls:
If we placed the coins in coin rolls, the Bank cleared the funds into the bank account. If we deposit the coins in bags, we have to wait some days to have the funds in our bank account, since the bank has to wait for the Cash in Transit Company to collect the coins, then counting them and inform the bank about the balance per customer.
Many retailers, have much of their revenue in coins, so they can not wait 15 days to have their money in the bank account.
